2025 Recap
The 2025 Betta® Milk Royal Hobart Show at the Hobart Regatta Grounds in October attracted around 51,000 patrons, continuing four consecutive years of growth. Attendance has risen steadily since 2021, from 39,675 to more than 45,000 in 2024.
Strong national, international, and local entertainment, increased investment in social media, and popular competitive events contributed to the Show’s success. Six animal judging events held before and after the official Show period across the Hobart Showground and Pontville drew strong family interest and media attention, including cats, sheep, goats, rabbits, cavies, and alpacas.
World-class, no extra cost entertainment was a major drawcard, with PAW Patrol performing 10 times and George the Farmer appearing for the first time to promote agricultural awareness. New attractions included a large horticultural display and the Royal Hobart Inferno pyrotechnic show.
A wide range of competitions and interactive experiences featured across multiple venues, including kennel, wood-chopping and equestrian events, as well as cattle judging despite redevelopment at the Showground. Attendance included more young children and a more multicultural audience, reinforcing the Show’s role as an affordable, inclusive family event.
Looking ahead, the Show is evolving into a balance of tradition and innovation. The new Showground will support a more contemporary program while maintaining the community and animal competitions that underpin its identity as a modern agricultural festival.
