2009 Wrest Point Royal Hobart International Wine Show

14 – 20 November

Held in November each year the Wrest Point Royal Hobart International Wine Show is one of the most significant events in the Australian wine industry and has grown to become the second largest in the country.

First held in 1975, the Show prides itself on its innovations. Currently we are the only Wine Show in the Southern Hemisphere using AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 quality assurance accreditation to govern the judging and stewarding processes. Under this system continuous improvements are made to the wine show process.

The Wrest Point Royal Hobart International Wine Show restricts entries to wines already bottled-that is, not barrel samples or wines yet to be bottled- so that the public can be assured that the wines judged and possibly awarded medals are the same as they’ll find on bottleshop shelves.

The Wrest Point Royal Hobart International Wine Show aims:

  1. to support the development of the Australasian Wine Industry,
  2. to promote wine excellence, to represent the best interests of wine consumers and
  3. to educate emerging consumers about wine so that they can develop their palates to enjoy wine in moderation.
