The Main Grandstand at the Royal Hobart Showground offers a choice of function rooms. Whether you have a function for as little as 50 or more than 1000 we have a room to suit your needs. There is a full commercial kitchen, you can choose to self cater, bring in your own caterer or speak to use about one of our preferred suppliers. Our experienced staff at your request can arrange everything for you taking the stress out of your event. The facilities are licensed 24hrs a day and are available 7 days a week. Offering some of the most fantastic views of the Derwent River, Mount Wellington and the night lights of the city.

Derwent Room

This venue is popular for Birthdays, Weddings, Trophy nights and general social occasions. Located in the Upper Level Main Grandstand, this area is suitable for groups of 50 to 400 and can be customized to meet any of your seating or layout requirements. Our friendly staff can advise or aid you in your plans and setup. Or you can leave the coordination up to us. We can source everything from table centres to video projection and P.A. systems, even DJ’s and live music.

Grandstand Hall

Do you have a function involving 400 or more guests? Then this is the place for you. From Christmas and Corporate Functions to Music Concerts and Dance Parties, this is a highly functional area. The size and design of the Grandstand Hall allows us to offer any number of setups limited only by your imagination.
