2. Your Products

2A. As per Australian Competition and Consumer Commission definitions are your products:

Please list all products and/or services for sale. The Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania (RAST) reserves the right to determine which products/services may be sold or promoted at the 2010 RHS. If your products require a licence to be sold within Australia you will need to provide a physical copy after completing this application form.

2B. Do you sell promotional packages/bags and/or show bags?

In accordance with Department of Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading you must submit samples of your product for inspection. RAST requires 3 x samples of your promotional / show bags with a list of all included items with this application for inspection. Samples must be received no later that the first Friday in October. Sample items cannot be returned to the Exhibitor.

2C. Do you sell products that contain pre-packaged or ready to eat /drink food or beverage?

All Food and Beverage Vendors must apply for a Food Business Permit from Glenorchy City Council (see page 5 for guidelines). All Food and Beverage Exhibitors will need to provide a copy of their Food Permit or Proof of Payment to RAST.

2D. In accordance with Glenorchy City Council (GCC) guidelines are your products?

micro-organisms unless kept at controlled temperatures.

3. About Your Exhibit

3A. Does your exhibit include a tent, marquee or hoecker?

No (go to next question 3C)

 
3B. Is your structure one of the following:

Temporary Structure process (all Food structures over 10sqm and General structures over 20sqm):
  • Complete Temporary Structure application with Certificate of Likely Compliance (issued by your building surveyor) and send to Glenorchy City Council with your application fee
  • Submit copy of Certificate of Likely Compliance for Temporary Structure to the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania no later than the 31st August 2010
  • Survey of your structure must be complete by 5pm on Tuesday, 19 October 2010, after which your surveyor will issue an Occupancy Certificate
  • Occupancy Certificate must be publicly displayed on your site during the Royal Hobart Show.

  • Food Vendors are encouraged to use gas where possible to minimize impact and reliance on Showground power supply.
  • All Exhibitors must supply a list of equipment detailing watts and amps for each item requiring power.
  • Any costs incurred by an Exhibitor as a result of undeclared power usage and equipment will be charged to the Exhibitor at the scheduled rate plus 50%, plus any other costs that may be incurred.
  • All power equipment (including cords) being used must be tested and tagged by the Exhibitor within 6 months of the event.
  • All power equipment used by the Exhibitor must be protected by a Residual Current Device (RCD) supplied by the Exhibitor (Showcase Pavilion and Food and Wine Pavilion excepted) and located at the starting point of the consumer's power supply.
  • Heaters, electric fires, kettles and cooking equipment not used for display purposes are strictly prohibited, unless used by a commercial food outlet.
  • The Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania (RAST) reserves the right to determine power supply and cost requirements in accordance with Workplace Safety Standards and current legislation.
  • Exhibitors applying for a 3 phase power connection will need to supply their own distribution box.
  • Outdoor Exhibitors must supply their own power cords (tested & tagged within the last 6 months) and a length of 500mm wide matting to provide ground coverage of the power lead and barrier tape or mesh to prohibit public access between sites.
  • All Exhibitors please complete POWER section of Booking Form.
3D. Do you require water for your site?

Water connection is subject to availability. All Exhibitors must supply their own water connection device.

3E. Does your exhibit include gas, naked flames and/or compressed air?

You must tell us if you intend to use gas, naked flames or compressed air. All Exhibitors must supply a detailed list of equipment with this application and are: subject to approval; must demonstrate compliance with Workplace Safety Standards and relevant legislation for use; and
provide appropriate emergency safety equipment on their site. Please refer to Exhibitor Manual for guidelines.

4. Vehicle and Entry Passes (All Exhibitors please read)

All Exhibitors will be issued 1 x Exhibitor Pack per site upon confirmation of booking containing:

4A. Do you intend to have a vehicle on-site at any time during the Royal Hobart Show?

All Exhibitors requiring vehicle access to the Hobart Showground for any reason during the Royal Hobart Show must apply for a Vehicle Permit. Permits are limited and will be granted to Exhibitors with the most need. Unauthorised vehicles will be towed off-site at the vehicle owner's expense.
All Exhibitors please complete VEHICLE PERMITS section of Booking Form.

5. Licences and Certificates of Currency

5A. Do you have Public Liability Insurance?

The Society's Public Liability insurance policy does not cover Commercial Exhibitors. It is in the best interests of all exhibitors to maintain their own public and products liability insurance. All Exhibitors in the following categories must provide proof of cover for the period of the Show: Show Rides, Games, Novelty Goods and Food Vendors.

Final invoice by return post with full payment required no later than the 31st July 2010. Late payment/bookings will incure a later premium of 10% and be payable in full on booking.
