What our casual stall holders think of the Sunday Market
Between July and December 2006, the Showground Market conducted a series of surveys of casual stallholders, to gauge their satisfaction levels with their market experience. Their responses indicate a strong satisfaction with the market as a convenient place to successfully sell goods.
The key findings included:
- 94% of respondents were satisfied with the performance of their stall at the market.
- 94% of respondents said they would run a stall again at the Showground Market. 6% responded “not sure”.
- 98% of respondents said they would recommend the Showground Market to others. 2% responded “unsure”
- 87% of casual stallholders said that they had sufficient room to spread their wares.
- 100% of respondents agreed that Showground Market staff were helpful and courteous to their needs.
- 67% said there was nothing in particular which staff could have done to make their experience better. There were some comments about matters such as “changeable weather”, and a desire for more family entertainment at the Market.
- Importantly for the Market, 54% of casual stall holders surveyed said they had heard about the Market through word of mouth – always the best means of advertising a great product! 25% had previously been to the Market, and 21% had heard of the Market through advertising.
- Overwhelmingly, casual stall holders said the first thing they thought in association with the Market was bargains and variety.
