Hobart Showground Sunday Market is more than just a place of goods for sale at great value prices - its part of an historic landmark, a tourist attraction and an institution for our locals. This vast, vibrant centre of entertainment and trade has been operated by the Market owners since 1903, with the origins of The Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania going back to 1821.
Last year, the Market attracted over 200,000 visitors.
Spread over one massive building, it's the largest indoor and open air market in Hobart. Although the indoor area are well weatherproofed it is recommended you dress for the weather what ever the time of year. It is a rare day when you will not be tempted to browse the wares of the open air Stallholders who come whatever the weather.
Please note that dogs are not permitted to enter the Market Pavilion, however dogs under proper control are welcomed in the open air areas.
