2011 Fine Food Awards

The Wrest Point Royal Hobart Fine Food Awards are a key event in the Australian culinary calendar. The event is organised by The Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania (RAST) to promote excellence in the production of different food types.

Held each August, entries have grown continuously since 1996. Entries for the Awards are submitted from all over Australia, and include well known makers and producers, as well as, cottage craft producers whose recognition through the Awards helps to build business, sales and marketing opportunities.

Judges with Tasmanian, national and international experience work their way through more than 960 entries over three days. All entries are judged against stringent criteria and standards.
The Wrest Point Royal Hobart Fine Food Awards have been accepted as the qualifying path for Australian entries in the Australian Grand Dairy Awards.

For RAST, the program is part of its mission to promote primary and rural based industries, and the down stream processing that occurs in these industries; and to foster a sense of excellence in areas such as Tasmanian wines and foods.

The 2011 Wrest Point Royal Hobart Fine Food Awards will be held from 12 – 14 August 2011.

Closing date for entries:	Friday 29 July 2011
Schedule and Entry Forms:	Available for download approximately 1 May 2011.
Delivery of Exhibits:	Bread section Friday 12 August 2011, no later than 8am Cakes, Pies & Pastries section Thursday 11 August 2011 (no later than 4pm) Friday 12 August 2011 (no later than 8am) Dairy & Seafood sections Wednesday 10 & Thursday 11 August 2011 (no later than 4pm) All other sections From Monday 8 August to Thursday 11 August 2011 (no later than 4pm) *All deliveries to the Hobart Showground – Main Grandstand.*
Awards Presentation Dinner:	Sunday 14 August 2011 – Wrest Point Boardwalk Gallery, 6.30 for 7.00pm Cost of ticket to be advised closer to the event
Results	Will be published on Monday 15 August 2011
